The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

Thursday night dip, Fly Flatts

Sun setting over the moor

Northern ponds and shore

Still plenty mud at the north end

Managed to waste an hour tonight dashing over to Fly Flatts with hopes of the Greenshank but this was not to be.
After going in at the northern end and doing a full scope of the shoreline the bird was not to be found.
11 Wheatear were picked up in the scope along wall tops ,otherwise just a few Mallard and Canadas with no gulls present.
Did manage to get bit though with thousands of midges

With the Bank Holiday here and associated weather I'm sure you'll get something tasty to compensate. I wonder if it went down to Ogden, lol.
