The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

LBB moving over

Linnets fill the skies, Soil Hill

A day of strong W>5 winds and heavy drizzle improving p.m.

Very little of note today with the winds keeping birds down although it was a suprise to see 3 Herring gulls over >W midday.
Common gulls are starting to use the park again with 3 present at lunch time along with 2 Pied Wagtails.
Is it just me or have Grey Wagtails been thin on the ground this year? I think Ive had 2 all summer.

I'm pleased you got the Herring Gulls as it adds weight to what I thought I saw Sunday. Would be good for Adult Herring to stay at Ogden for a couple of days.

Strange how most Herring gull sightings round here are flyovers and rarely drop into the reservoirs.

Nice one with the H Gulls Bri. We have had a few Grey Wags over Lee Mount in the wet weather this last week or so - must be starting to move through. They have been thin on the ground during the summer though. 1 at Ogden this afternoon.
