The Breeding Season

As from now until the end of the breeding season birds of a sensitive nature will be omitted from this blog due to a small percentage of undesirables who take their pleasure from egg collecting, nest destroying and the killing and trapping of birds.
Reports of non breeding birds moving through the area will still be published. BS

Thursday,in like a lamb,out like a lion.

Ferals moving in

Winters not over yet

A bright sunny start to the day with a stiff W>4 till mid p.m. when lashing horizontal rain came in a force 7 gusting from the south west which increased slightly during the evening.

Garden birds this morning had their springtime heads on with Blue Tits chasing each other around, Robins and Dunnocks up singing and Greenfinches checking out the conifers by the garage for nest sites which they do each year and each year the nest gets ragged with cats.
Feral pigeon numbers are increasing in the gardens around Foxhill and clearing the feeders, fortunately thats a problem I dont seem to get in my garden but I suppose they,re only birds and have to feed just the same as any.
The ivy at the back of the house is getting a real battering tonight and Im hoping it stays fast to the wall otherwise there,s going to be a lot of homeless House Sparrows tomorrow.
